Tis the Season for Shop Hopping!

Posted by Christy Zawodniak on

Here at Cottage Grove Quilt Company, we are enjoying meeting all the quilters on the All Missouri Shop Hop.  It has been so much fun.  If you are a new quilter, you may be wondering what is a shop hop?  A shop hop is organized around a collection of brick-and-mortar quilt/fabric stores.  The shops (like Cottage Grove Quilt Company) come together to create a fun experience for shoppers.  Shoppers have a “passport” with each shop listed on the passport. Then the shoppers travel around (hopping) stopping at each store and collect stamps.  Once all the stamps are collected then the shopper’s passport can be entered to win various prizes from the organizers and shops.  It is super big fun!

What we are participating in is the All Missouri Shop Hop.  There are 70 shops across the entire state of Missouri that are participating in the hop.  Additionally, Missouri is broken out into regions.  So that the hopper can do just 1 region, 2 regions or all regions.  This shop hop is for the entire months of September and October.  Giving the hoppers plenty of time to visit the shops.

What makes the shop hop so much fun is to go with friends.  Grab a couple of sewing pals and hit the road!  It will make for an amazing adventure!!

For me as a shop owner, I am enjoying SEW much meeting all the new hoppers!!  We had company this past week from Iowa!  How fun is that.  It has been great to make new friends and welcome you all to our little town.  If you come hungry, we have a great diner that has amazing hamburgers and milkshakes.  If you just need a little pick me up, check out our coffee shop – Just Be Kind Café.  The coffee is amazing, but the desserts are incredible!!

When you come and visit us at Cottage Grove Quilt Company be sure to get a selfie with our staff or Me.  Get a chance to meet Leroy Bleu (if you want too – just ask!).  Get your stamp and your free gift from us!

 Happy Quiltin’!
