DATES: Monday, April 10 & 17
TIME: 6-9pm
This class is designed to introduce you to the basic skills required to begin your own journey into quilting. You will make a 3-yard quilt called Garden Path, a throw size top using three one-yard cuts of fabric (see supply list below). Extra fabric will be needed for the binding and backing, which you can get after completing your quilt top, There will be some cutting/sewing homework to be completed between sessions in order to complete your top in class.
Supply List:
Three one-yard cuts of fabric as follows:
- Focus Fabric: Can be a larger print for 9" blocks
- Background Fabric: Lighter solid, blender or small print to coordinate with your focus fabric
- Accent Fabric: Use a darker contrasting color which coordinates with the focus and background fabrics
The Garden Path sample quilt in the shop will help you choose your fabrics. Do not choose directional fabrics! The strip-piecing method used for pieced blocks will not give you control over the direction of patterned fabrics. The Background and Accent fabrics are also used in the two borders.
